Offshore Surf School – Terms and conditions

Booking – When booking a session/s, a contract is made when the booking is confirmed by Offshore Surf School either in writing, email or verbally.
When making a booking with Offshore Surf School you are confirming that you have read and agree with these terms and conditions.
Gift Vouchers Must be used by use by date unless other arrangements have been made.
No refund is offered once the gift voucher has been offered however the gift vouchers are transferable to other people.
Hire No refund will be made once the client has paid for, and taken delivery of, the hire equipment.
Payment – Payment can be made by cash or cheque or bank transfer. Paypal details can also be provided if required.
The person submitting the booking accepts responsibility for payment for everyone listed in the booking and is responsible for ensuring that all other persons listed in the booking are aware of the terms and conditions.
Discount – A discount can be offered to groups of 10 or more people but only by prior agreement with the Offshore Surf School Owner.
Changing your booking and Refunds
Any changes are subject to availability if the changes cannot be made due to a lack of availability, any deposit paid is non-refundable.
In the case where your group size drops in numbers from the original booking we must receive notification of this at least 48hrs before your lesson time via email/verbally.
If the changes are less than 48hrs before the session you will be charged for the number of people based on your original booking.
If the client has paid for a block of lessons at a discounted price, the refund will be based on the lessons already delivered at the undiscounted lesson price less the total amount paid.
No refund is offered if the client refuses to comply with the Offshore Surf School policies and instructions from Offshore Surf School staff and the Instructor determines the client cannot participate in the activity.
If the client advises the Instructor of a medical condition such that the Instructor decides, that it would be unsafe for the client to participate in the activity, a full refund will be offered.
If the Instructor becomes aware of a clients medical condition after the lesson has commenced, such that the Instructor determines it is unsafe for the client to continue in the activity, no refund will be offered.
We operate on an instructor to student ratio if the amount of people in your booking drops or increases this can effect whether we need another instructor team member.
Offshore Surf School reserves the right to cancel or postpone a surf lesson due to unforeseen circumstances and will make every effort to re-schedule surf lesson to another date.
Cancellations – All cancellations must be sent via email or phone call wherever possible and will be effective on the date, which they are received by Offshore Surf School. In the event of cancellation taking place less than 48 hours before the booking, Offshore Surf School reserves the right to impose cancellation charges up to the prevailing price ignoring discounts of the lesson / activity.
Other important Information – The activities of Surfing and associated activities carry a degree of risk both to people and property, even if enjoyed under proper supervision by qualified instructors.
All participants must make us aware of any medical conditions, illnesses or allergies they may have and any prescribed medication they are taking.
Parents or guardians must give consent for participants who are under 18 years of age. In certain groups where applicable a group leader/ Guardian can give permission. i.e. .Schools a teacher can give permission on behalf of the group.
Offshore Surf School does not accept any liability for any loss caused by failure to disclose information.
All participants must be proficient at swimming.
In no circumstances should participants be under the influence of any alcohol, drugs or medication at the time of the lesson which may adversely affect their physical abilities.
All participants must agree to abide to all instructions and decisions that Offshore Surf School and its instructors / staff make.
Participants will have the use of Offshore Surf School equipment during their lessons. Whereas Offshore Surf School takes all reasonable measures to ensure the safety and good condition of that equipment, participants are responsible for immediately reporting any damage caused to the equipment or which becomes apparent whilst the equipment is in their possession.
Offshore Surf School does not seek to limit or exclude any liability for personal injury or loss of life which may occur as a result of its own negligence or that of its employees, officers or agents, however,
Offshore Surf School assumes no liability in respect of any personal injury, loss, damage, consequential loss or third party claims which occur through no fault of its own, its employees, officers or agents.
All other liability or conditions implied by law are excluded to the fullest extent possible. Surf / Weather conditions – If water and weather conditions become unsafe during the activity, the instructor may modify the activity and undertake activities on the shore rather than in the water, or the activity may be rescheduled for another time.
In the rare event that Offshore Surf School considers conditions to be unsuitable for your activity we will make all efforts to reschedule your lesson.
Due to summer time demand there is a slight chance we may not be able to reschedule and in this case a credit voucher will be issued.
Credit for any lessons owed can be used within 6 months from the date of the cancelled lesson.
Any lessons owed must be booked in advance and are subject to availability.
School groups – If conditions on the day are not appropriate for your chosen activity another time/date will be offered.
Brochure and website accuracy – Whilst every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of Offshore Surf School’s brochure and website it is intended only as a guide to the services it provides and Offshore Surf School is relieved of any liability due to any errors or omissions it may contain, or any minor discrepancies between the brochure or website’s content and that service. Any likeness or image of you secured or taken on any of our courses or holidays may be used by us without charge in all media for genuine promotional or marketing purposes.
This includes promotional materials of any kind, such as brochures, leaflets, videos and the internet.
If you would prefer not to be used in any promotional materials please inform us in writing prior to your course.
Theft – We accept no responsibility for the theft, loss or damage to personal belongings or luggage from at any time during the duration of a clients surf lesson at Offshore surf school.
Prices – The prices printed on this website/form are valid at the time of publication. Offshore Surf School reserves the right to increase or reduce any of these prices any time after publication.
Law and Jurisdiction – These conditions form a contract between us which will be construed in accordance with Irish Law and it is agreed between us that each will submit to the jurisdiction of the Irish Courts.
Complaints Policy and Procedure
Offshore Surf School is committed to effectively, efficiently, promptly and fairly handling all complaints about its services and products.
Any complaint will be treated seriously, investigated thoroughly and dealt with according to the merit of the complaint.
The circumstances and results of any appeal are analysed thoroughly by senior management for their implications and acted on appropriately so as to remove any grounds for appeal in the future by improving the relevant functions.
Making Complaints
Clients may make a complaint by telephone or by email – surf@offshoresurfschool.ie
Clients are notified in writing of the outcome of the complaint within 60 days from the time of receiving the complaint.
All complaint information is filed on the Complaints File. Should the client not be satisfied, then the client can seek arbitration by a third party acceptable to all parties to the grievance. If the complaint is not satisfactorily resolved within 60 days from the occurrence of the complaint, the client may request Offshore Surf School seek the services of a third party.
Arbitration will be undertaken when both Offshore Surf School and the client agree on a third party.
If the complaint/grievance is still unresolved, the client will be advised of external organisations of appeal.
